Ukrainian - Dutch Social Project to help children at risk

YFC Ukraine joined forces with Dutch Cornerstone Сhurch and Khmelnytsky Baptist Church to conduct a grand social project in Khmelnytsky region. 52 Dutch young people came to Ukraine on July 13 to serve local kids at risk. They organized a camp, helped families with their needs and built the DC facility.

CAMP “THE PATH” ENCOURAGED TEENS TO BE TRUE CHRISTIANS

During July 8-14, “The Path” day camp took place in Yasenivka. This year 55 children visited it, and 90% of them were from non-christian families. “The Path” was all about the choice: to look like a Christian or to be a true one. Children listened to Bible lessons with pleasure; they played different games, prepared sketches for the evening service, took part in various workshops and cooking classes.

IN DAY CENTER KIDS ARE LEARNING BIBLE TRUTHS WITH THE HELP OF SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS

The Day Center, located in the city of Pokrovsk, started a new tradition - sharing Bible truths with the help of science experiments. One of these was called “What Are You Living For? The leader showed kids 2 ballons. He filled one of them with pieces of paper with words like money, power, career, etc. Then he brought the ballon to the fire and it popped. He filled the other balloon with water, which symbolizes the living water, which Jesus gives those who live for His sake and serves Him. When he brought the second ballon to the fire, it didn’t pop. The leader demonstrated kids the following truth: If you live for Christ’s sake, you’ll not be disappointed in Him.

THE DC “THE OPTIMIST’ ORGANIZED AN EASTER MEETING

The kids from the DC “The Optimist” took part in the big meeting, dedicated to Easter. The kids from the youth club “The Future” also joined it. On April 19, leaders of these ministries created an exceptional atmosphere for kids. They were able to experience how a Jewish family usually celebrates Passover. Children saw different symbolical dishes put on the table. Matzah, bitter herbs, and roasted meat, which symbolizes the future God’s Lamb, were among them.
